UK Mental Health Awareness Week

I'd like to briefly talk about a myth that stuck in my mind at a time when I needed help. This myth 'your baby is fine, that is all that matters'. I'll stop you right there⚠️ it matters equally how mum is feeling too; because without a mentally healthy mum how can one expect to fully provide for her baby?! I suffered with depression after the birth of my baby. It was a time I had expected to be so happy and full of joy, but instead i felt lonely, exhausted, and doubtful of my abilities as a new mum. 💔 National Infertility Awareness Week 💔

We saw two lines.....then.... Infertility affects 1 in 8 couples and is defined as a couple who has been trying to conceive for 12 + months.
I was hopeful that my story this week was to highlight our success at TTC after taking a long time to conceive, but I'm devastated that it was not meant to be on this occasion.
For me, infertility has been what seems like a never ending cycle of POAS, temping, charting, obsessing over every little detail and then the agonising two week wait after OV, constantly checking your underwear and the toilet paper praying that there are no signs of AF. Then there's the obsession of inverting images in the hope that you might see that BFP, squinting and moving around the house in the hope that you might see a faint line 💔

We had our blood tests back and sadly our excitement of seeing that BFP quickly became an agonising reality that our bean was no more.
I was in two minds whether to share my story but then I realised that I'm not alone and in sharing my story it might help to raise awareness.
